Herbal Contraceptive Study /+/ Prenatal Sounds Study
How to Get Involved
Queen Anne's Lace, or Wild Carrot, is a plant that has been used for centuries as an herbal form of contraceptive. The "Mother of Queen Anne's Lace", Robin Bennett has crafted a couple studies herself on the use of QAL today, and I am attempting to follow in her steps and start a new study. If you are interested in learning more, participating in the study, have information to share on QAL use, etc. please e-mail me! There is an Eligibility Questionnaire/Health Intake form that needs to be filled out in order to see if you are able to participate.
Whether or not you can participate in the study, there are other ways to help!
+ Spread the word in mothering groups, birth professional groups, student midwifery groups, doula pages, blogs, etc. and try to recruit potential candidates for the study.
+ Donate to a "supplies donation jar" that will go to purchasing supplies (including the herb/tinctures, TCOYF book, etc.) for those who would like to participate but who are financially in need. **Donation button located below, will redirect you to Paypal**
+ Submit your past experiences with QAL in as much detail as you can (it would be great if you have charts!) to be put on record-- if you wish, they can be added to the book I am writing (anonymously or however you wish to be cited).
+ Do you have any other ideas on how to help or skills you can offer? Send me an e-mail and we'll brainstorm!
I am very excited to get this underway, and hope to have much success. Thank you for reaching out and desiring to take charge of your body, your reproduction, and your health! You are being welcomed into a long lineage of sisterhood and women's knowledge. QAL is not for everyone, but I hope that many women can create an intimate relationship with this special herb.
These sound sessions would be done in the comfort of ones own home, on your schedule, using some sort of pregnancy belly headphones/speakers. Depending on what group you select to be a part of, these sessions will utilize dolphin and whale-song, general ocean sounds, or shamanic drumming compared to those in Control Group A (no sound sessions) and Control Group B (classical music, which has been studied some)-- this is for those mothers who cannot have in-person prenatal dolphin encounters.
